Book Blurb: Natural enemies, deadly attraction...

Mihaela, a fearless vampire hunter secretly haunted by loneliness and childhood tragedy, finds it difficult to adjust to the new world order where vampires are not always the bad guys. She's taking a much needed vacation in Scotland when she sees a little boy being chased through the streets of Edinburgh. Rescuing him brings bigger problems - two vampires from her past: Gavril, who killed her family; and the reclusive and troubled Maximilian, gifted Renaissance artist and one-time overlord of the most powerful undead community in the world. Maximilian once saved her life and now needs that favor returned.

The earth moves for Mihaela in more ways than one. From Scotland to Budapest and Malta, she  races against time to prevent a disastrous, vampire-induced earthquake and save an innocent yet powerful child – all while fighting a dreadful attraction to Maximilian, her only ally, whom she can’t afford to trust. For Maximilian, the hunter becomes a symbol of renewed existence, as he struggles to accept his past and rediscovers his appetite for blood and sex - and maybe even happiness.

My Rant:  Blood guilt was an interesting story, kind of reminded me of the Van Helsing series but with a twist. I feel kind of trator-ish because I completely love my vampires and everything about them but I had to root for the star character in this story, Mihaela who happens to be a vampire hunter.  I know, I know I am turning against my own kind here…. Just bleed me out already LOL.

Any who, the story line was action packed and the authors writing style just flowed with ease.  Mihaela story was touching. The main reason that fuels her mistrust of vampires was heart wrenching back story of her family being murdered by vampires.  So when she had to learn to trust Maximilian you experience her character struggle with those emotions.  You could literally feel the hurt and pain coming off the pages.

Maximillian is also struggling to cope with his past which is quickly catching up to him but Karma comes around ten fold and you completely get what you dish out. But although Max did all off those awful vampire thinks to people… which is why vamps are bad A’s in the first place, but what was appealing about max is that he seems to be remorseful, soul searching remorseful. He opens himself up and completely turns into such a remarkable character.

Max and Mihaela struggled at the circumstance that drew them together but watching them come together and learn to cope with each other and then finally fall in love. The love between both characters was beautiful. The author takes her time at building this romance so that you can experience the tingly feeling nestled in the center of your chest.

My Recommendation :

I rated this book 4 out of 5 Purple Rant heart and would reccomend this book to paranormal romance lovers.
