My Rant:

I completely adored these novellas of The world among Us.  The characters were so easy to connect to and the story line was captivating.  Elise was an interesting character. Through her talents of journalism she bought to us the story of the underworld through her fascinating interviews with especially with Hades and Damien. The plot begins with the assassin. My heart completely was floored when he told his version of the story to Elise. I felt sorry for him because throughout all of this he was manipulated into killing his best friend and no matter the regret he is feeling he cannot undo what has already been done.
Book two picks up with Elise being assigned to get hades part of the story. It was interesting to see how the underworld kept tabs on the mortal’s world and knew exactly when to intervene to make these connections happen. Elise was one brave cookie to take on the interview with Hades. I loved her because she knew just how and when to push the button of the individual to draw out hidden emotions.  Although at times she should have been terrified and that is an understatement because she was, Elise continued to press on. Her bravery and dedication completely made this story interesting. It is not east to enter into the world of the devil and walk away and live to tell the story about it.
Book three takes you right into Damien story. My heart is breaking…. I loved Damien and I think he was just the character to completely capture your heart. It was sad when he told Elise and Abby his story. The horrible things his father made him so was unspeakable how you could treat your child that way.  Damien story alone gave me the courage to want to smack the taste out of Hades mouth to get him to realize he needed to be a better father to his only son.  (sniffle).
Book four completely put every things from the other books into perspective and completely left me unhappy. I could not get more form the story and I have to wait until the other books come out. Ugh. Even though these were short novellas the author completely submersed me into the story. I want to and need to know more.  I need to know how this is going to turn out. Just by reading these 4 books I have a feeling that the author has something special up her sleeve that she is not willing to release yet and all these incidents in this story have a purpose and I can’t wait for it all to be revealed. Literally I can’t wait. Ms. Beth please release the next book soon…….
My Recomendation:

Overall I really enjoyed these novellas; I read them all within 1 hour. I rated all the novellas 4 out of 5 Purple Rant Hearts and would recommend these books to anyone that enjoys a paranormal short story.
