Blurb/Synopsis: A serial killer in Salem? Not for decades, but the bodies are piling up and all signs point in one direction. Rogue vampire. Except things aren't always what they seem, especially in a murder investigation.

With her current relationship on the rocks, her father playing match-maker and her neighbor tossing his hat in the ring, the body count isn't the only thing on the rise. Maurin is neck deep in magic, mayhem and murder.

Can she catch the killer before the killer catches her? One things for certain, when hunting vampires there will be blood.

FTC Disclaimer: I received this book for free from the author, editor, publisher, or Promo Host. This is my honest opinion about this book and I did not receive any monetary compensation for writing this review nor was I obligated to write a positive one.

My Rant: Boy O Boy did I feel alive when I started reading this book. I want to grow up and be like Maurin.  Lol, obviously we all know that not going to happen so let’s get down to the meet and bones of the review. Blood Bath was suspenseful and riveting. I loved the characters. The plot was on fire, and you all know I am a vampire fanatic but in this book my poor vampires are bring annihilated by hunters. But I have to say the hunters are hot with all alpha attitudes.  The love triangle in this book is off the hook. I so wish I was Maurin because she has some hot guys to choose from. I mean honestly I would like to see Maurin with Cash but I do like Aiden as well. I am blown away by this author writing style and edgy plot. Her characters are lovable and you feel like you’re with them as they are battling the bad guys. The determination, care and all out kick ass vibe these characters give off keeps you hooked on the story-line. Of course the bad guys are bad completely bad, but what fun would that be if they were good right. This is my first time reading Rachel's work and I am hooked. I loved the way she just turns a phrase and the imagery she designs when telling this story. I am going to go back and pick up her other books in this series. She is now one of my favorites and I will be adding Blood Bath to my 2014 Paranormal and YA list.

My Recommendation:
I rated this book 4 1/2 out of 5 Purple Rant Hearts. and would recommend this series to anyone that loves a vamp, witches and werewolf series with tons of action.

Maurin Kincaide Series

I was born and raised in the Baltimore Metropolitan area but my family is originally from Rhode Island. I spent summers in New England with my grandparents, which probably sparked my fascination with Salem, MA. I started writing fictional stories and poems in middle school. In fact I had notebooks and notebooks full of incomplete stories and poems. One of which I managed to hold on to and is safely stashed in a box under my bed. When I was in seventh grade I entered a poetry contest in the back of an Archie comic and won, after that I was hooked on writing after that. Amazingly it took almost two decades to find a voice for my snarky, ass kicking heroine Maurin Kincaide and complete my first length novel. Meeting the love of your life and raising three amazing children together must have caused a rift in time because I still can't believe it's gone by so quickly. I'm fortunate to have an loving and supportive family who don't mind sharing me with all the other people in my head.
