After eating, we walked back to the bedroom. It was a grand bedroom, with a large king sized bed. The headboard was made of metal, angels were sculpted into it. The bedspread was pitch , er than the metal headboard and the white curtains wrapped around it like an angels wings.
The carpet was too and the walls were white. Everything was either or white in this room. But it wasn’t weird or unnerving, it was regal and elegant. It was beautiful.
Then I noticed David also staring at the bed and my cheeks warmed.
His hand was warm on the small of my back, and without removing it he turned to face me

Trapped by his promise, Dyletri has no choice but to watch Ismini die, no matter how much he wants her.

Yet the darkness of his calling is spiraling within him, demanding he claim the human as his. If he goes back on his promise, the energy of the Fates will cause untold destruction in the Universe. That doesn’t change how Dyletri’s begun exhibiting symptoms that point to more than just lust. How does he allow Ismini to die when she’s come to own him from the inside out?

Desire and torment spiral into something much darker than obsession, more turbulent than an addiction, and something much more brutal than a mere soul-mating. Subhera Reviews : Inferno (Chronicles of Nick)

Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Genre: Young Adult

Goodreads: Add to TBR list

Purchase Links : Amazon | Barnes and Noble | iBooks

My Howl:  Zombies, Vampires and Weres, Oh My ! This is the recipe I was expecting to find in the 4th installment of   Chronicles of Nick, Inferno.

Let me first say that Sherrilyn Kenyon kicks booty! YA, Manga, Paranormal Romance, it doesn't matter, the woman knows her sh..er., stuff! ( this is a YA book review)

Having said that, this book was good but not great.

We find Nick Gautier, that's pronounced ( GO Shay), get it right!  He's back at school trying his best to stay on the straight and narrow after getting the daunting news from his future self, Ambrose, that he is destined to destroy the world!

For my Dark Hunter lovers, Nick is the same smart mouth Cajun that we've come to love and expect.
Maybe a little more self deprecating than we like, but still bringing the snappy come backs for every insult, or joke aimed his way.

Interview with Gayla Twist Author of Call of Vampire ( The Vanderlind Castle Series) & Giveaway

I recently reviewed Gayla Twist Call of Vampire and completely loved the book, so I asked Ms. Gayla if she would sit down with me to give me the lowdown on herself, Call of Vampire and her upcoming projects. She agreed to do the interview and here is what she had to say…….

Crystal: Gayla Thanks you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with me. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to be an author?

Gayla: I've always loved making up stories. As a very little girl I had this pack of magic makers that I would play with for hours and never actually draw anything because in my world the markers were all characters having adventures.

My husband frequently laughs at me because even when I'm not "working" I make up little adventure stories for our daily lives.

Crystal: LOL, I can remember I was like that with barrettes. My mom used to think it was strange but my father thought it was great that I had a big imagination. Lol. That has to be cool that you do adventure stories. It is always the little thinks that makes life grand.

Who are your favorite authors?
Gayla: Jane Austen (boring answer) Anita Loos is hilarious. John Steinbeck can make you laugh and cry in the same chapter. Alexander Dumas (he wrote history the way it should have been) Mark Twain (he's a relative so I've got to give Clemens a plug, not that he needs it) There are so many great authors out there. But definitely check out Anita Loos. She wrote Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and her books are still so very funny. Don't know why she's not more popular these days.

Book Blurb: Aurora Keys has dreamed of the Vanderlind Castle ever since she was a little girl. But the fiercely private Vanderlinds keep the massive structure strictly off limits to visitors. Until one night, the wealthy family throws a party—not just a small soiree, but a huge black-tie affair. No one from the town of Tiburon, Ohio, is invited—not even the mayor. But Aurora’s best friend, Blossom, has a foolproof plan for the two of them to sneak in.

At first, everything goes smoothly: the girls enter the castle undetected, and there is free champagne. But then the handsome Jessie Vanderlind sweeps Aurora into his arms, crushing her to his chest and whispering, “I knew you’d come back to me.”

Aurora understands it is a case of mistaken identity, but she feels connected to him somehow. And the boy is so beautiful, she believes she would be happy if he never let her go.

Once Jessie realizes he is mistaken, his smile quickly changes to a scowl. “You must leave,” he tells her in a low, urgent voice. “Immediately. Come! I’ll find a way to get you out.”

Unbeknownst to Aurora and Blossom, they have snuck into the home of one of the most prestigious vampire families in the world, and it is doubtful the two young women will ever be allowed to leave. Aurora’s resemblance to Jessie Vanderlind’s lost love just may be the only thing keeping them alive.

My Rant:

Here is another story I completely fell in love with. Jessie and Aurora story was so touching. There is such a connection to the characters that you being to feel the since of warmth as their story unfolds. The love story that is told is completely innocent and charismatic and you have a sense of what true love should be like, you can feel it as your reading. I got so wrapped in the story I lost track of time and completely devoured the book in one sitting.

The Baby Bargin Book Tour, Review and Giveaway

Title: The Baby Bargain
Author: Jennifer Apodaca
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Goodreads: Add to TBR List
Purchase Links: Amazon | Barnes and Noble | iBooks
Book Description:

Seeing Adam Waters is the last thing veterinarian Megan Young expects. Ex-Marine. Ex-boyfriend. And still extremely dangerous territory. But Adam doesn’t know the secret Megan has been keeping from him. The secret that was created three years ago, after their last night together…
Adam returns to Raven’s Cove to sell his home in a final break with the town and memories that haunt him. The problem is that his attraction to Megan is as blazing hot as it ever was. But when a vicious smear campaign against Megan turns ugly, Adam learns the truth he never knew—he has a son.
Now the only way Megan can protect her child is to strike a bargain with Adam. And it’s a bargain that looks a lot like blackmail…

My Rant: My heart poured out to this story. It was hard to work through some of the emotional ups and downs but that alone made this story so amazing. The plot was written in the POV of the two leading characters Adam and Megan. Which made it easy to get a glimpse in to the scene and view some of the same scenarios through each character perspectives. This book took me for a complete surprise. Because I didn’t think I would be attached to this story.

The beginning of the story started out with a rush of action. There were events happening right after the other and then you are led into one of the most romantic scenes between the leading characters Adam and Megan. They just had a chemistry that was so undeniable and intriguing that the heat index went from 30 degrees to 90 degrees in my room. The sparks they created once they made a connection was like poring soda on a car battery (booom) what an explosion.

Book Blurb: She’s running from the law, and the law wants her bad.

The opportunity was just too damn delicious for Ginger Peet to pass up. The purse full of money she finds—$50,000 to be exact—could give her and her teen sister the new start they need. So she grabs the cash, her gothy sibling, and their life-sized statue of Dolly Parton, and blows outta Nashville in a cloud of dust. Chicago, here we come…

Turns out, Chicago has some pretty hot cops. Hot, intense, naughty-lookin’ cops like Derek Tyler, who looks like he could eat a girl up and leave her begging for more. And more. Tempting as he is, getting involved with the sexy homicide lieutenant next door poses a teensy problem for a gal who’s on the lam. But one thing is certain—Derek’s onto her, and he wants more than just a taste.

And as far as he’s concerned, possession is nine-tenths of the law.

My Rant: This book was great. I completely loved the story. The plot was well written and the characters made it easy for you to fall into a reading frenzy. Ginger was very strong, independent and determined. My heart completely reached out to her because of the things she has had to witness as a child. It was also saddening that she did not get a chance to be a kid because she had to take care of her sister Willa, which turned out to be a completely witty character. The author draws you into to Gingers and Willa’s past and she capture’s you there because the emotions you are experiencing are so raw.

Truth or Dare: A Guest Post and Giveaway from fantasy author S. M. Boyce

Hey guys! I’m S. M. Boyce (call me Boyce)—fantasy author of the young adult Grimoire Saga. I’ve been invited over to share a guest-post version of truth or dare. I chose truth. So here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about me.

# 10—My first book sucked

I was five, and I wrote it for an elementary school book contest. The title: The Lonely Pickle. The plot involved the last pickle in a jar and its quest for friends. In hindsight, kinda morbid. I honestly don’t remember the ending of that little cardboard-bound treasure, and that’s probably a good thing. I’d like to think I’ve improved since then.

# 9—Dory from Finding Nemo always makes me smile

I keep a plastic figurine of Dory at my desk, complete with a mini green mask. It’s a reminder to “just keep swimming” when I get frustrated or stuck.

Book Blurb: Kaila flushed; no one had ever told her she was beautiful. She faced Jordyn, whose eyes again looked like an intelligent owl’s with immense black pupils. His eyes devoured her every nuance. She felt inexplicably drawn toward this boy-man, wise beyond his years. She wanted to dive deeper into those unfathomable eyes. She sensed if she dropped into those eyes she’d travel through a portal into the beyond, some place like she hovered in now. She would face herself, through him, realizing union and home.
“We are not all human,” Jordyn spoke to Kaila’s mind. “We are a blend of human and what you call alien— beings from another place in the universe. This is what makes us special. And what makes us different. You are like us, Kaila. This is why we felt connected from the moment we met. You’ve always felt different— and lonely— we know. We understand.”
They floated in space, between Venus and the sun. Kaila’s heart glowed, warm as that sun. He knew her; he understood her.
