A Beautiful Lie By T. E Sivec

Genre: Romantic Suspense

What is the book about?

Two friends (Garrett and Parker) set out to uncover the truth about the death of their closes friend Milo and during their mission it turns out that everything is not what it seems. What they believe to be the truth turns out to be a lie, because everyone has secrets.  Friendships are put to the test while they proceed to search for answers and uncover untruths that change the coarse of their lives forever.

My Rant:

I completely loved this book and was drawn into the story immediately. There were so many twist and turns in the story that I was never bored with the plot. The author keeps you engaged. Throughout the book I experienced a flutter of emotions. I laughed and cried and laughed and cried some more. The author takes you on this journey of Parker, Garret and Milo. The story is told in the past and present and from multiple points of views.

The heroine was amazing. Parker’s character morphed from the damsel in distress to the badass karate-kicking heroine that saves the day. What can I say she rocks. It was interesting to see the author use the character in that capacity which made it a lot easier to connect to Parker.  Garrett is the type of hero you always want in your back pocket because he is loyal to the end and sexy as hell as I picture him, lol. He matched the heroine in strength but Garrett always wore his heart on his sleeve, he was compassionate and caring but still strong, demanding and in your face. Milo was an interesting character since he was deceased the author used Garrett, Parker and other characters to tell his story, but as a reader I was still able to connect with him, although I loathed him with a passion.

The realization of true love and the sparks that fly between Parker and Garrett was enough to give me goose bumps because the author took her time to build the sexual tension between the characters just enough to make your heart flutter but when that tension came to a head and exploded, I was left wondering why my room temperature went from 75 degrees to 90. The scenes were completely worth the wait and displayed need, love, lust, romance, affection and infatuation. All the elements of a good steamy story of two people who loved each other so much that they could not survive without each other.

The action was on point. There was always something going on to capture your attention and throwing you completely off the course of figuring out the true motive and identity of the villain.

My Recommendation:

Overall I gave this book 4 out of 5 purple rant hearts. Ms. Sivec has proved to her audience that she can write in differen genre's and excel at an amaing story other than the romantic comedies she normally wrote. I recommend this book to anyone that loves a good romantic suspense with action and a twist.
